Blue Agave #2

In ancient times, blue agave was harvested in the volcanic high deserts of Mexico.  By 1600, the first blue agave farms were cultivated for tequila production.  Because it takes 8 years for the agave plant to grow to maturity, views like this painting are often seen in the Mexican state of Jalisco.
